Personal Profile
Dreamwood is owned and operated by me, Patrick Rooney,
of Glenwood, Minnesota. Dreamwood was started in order
to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning my own woodworking
shop. That dream came to life in 2007. I am an eleven
year veteran of the woodworking and construction industry.
I have two years of carpentry schooling where I earned a
diploma at the Alexandria Technical College in 1998.
During that time I worked for a small construction company
that did all of their own work from concrete and foundation
laying, to framing, insulating, dry walling, and finishing.
After graduating, I was hired by a large company that is a
two step millwork distributor. Then I was hired to work as
a machinist in a department that specialized in machining
commercial fire doors. By my fourth year with the company,
I was the team leader of the commercial production team.
Two years later, I was also given the responsibility of team
leader of the Specialty and Sub-Assembly teams.
During that time I have built and designed borrowed light,
sidelight, and transom schemes, designed and built fireplace
mantels, and designed and built window toppers.
Today, I am dedicated to providing my customers with a quality
product that is functional, beautiful, and affordable.
